My Etsy Shop

Not having any shows for a few months is honestly kind of depressing! I really enjoy getting out into the crowds and conversating with new people but most of all I love when people walk into my booth and express interest in the things that I have created. So I started asking myself how can I keep that going during the off-season?! The answer is an Etsy shop! So I am just in the beginning stages of creating one! I will post a link to my shop at the end of this blog so that you can check it out, shop from it if you choose to but most importantly - please provide me with some feedback on things I can improve or change to make it more appealing!

My biggest struggle that I am facing is that I am not very tech savvy! I am a Gen X'er and have experienced both sides of the technology innovation. I grew up without much technology and have been kind of skeptical with what technology I welcome into my life. Don't get me wrong, my cell phone has become an extension of my body - I don't go anywhere without it - but I will also admit that I am not proud of that. AI - I am very leery of it, however, I am learning some advantages to it when it comes to my Etsy shop. I am NOT a photographer so what I am able to do is take a photo of my products and then have Chat GPT enhance the background to make it look like it was professionally taken. I am so grateful for that because it is saving me so many headaches and so much time! My other struggle has been learning how to use Etsy and how to post my products. I am learning that once I do one, I can copy and edit to do the next one and it makes it a LOT easier.

I tried first building a website from scratch and that proved to be well over my paygrade as far as my technology skills were concerned!! It caused me a lot of stress, aggravation and tears! I decided to scrap that idea and stick with something that is already proven to work!

The next step will be to generate some traffic to my shop so if you can share it with those that you know and help me get the word out I would truly appreciate it! I only have a few products listed as of today but I am going to keep plugging away and adding more each day so that I can get it up and running!
